70+ at Today’s AFSCME Picket, UCD Admin Sends Narcs

More than 70 workers, students, and community members participated in an AFSCME picket today at the corner of Russell and La Rue in Davis. This was the first event organized by AFSCME to bring awareness to UC’s current attempt of creating a two-tier pension system, which would decrease pensions for new workers, and ultimately divide and weaken the union. Students and workers also stood in solidarity with protesters in Wisconsin in their fight for collective bargaining and labor rights.

UCOP’s unwillingness to give workers fair pensions and benefits will likely lead to bargaining impasse, so this is only the beginning…We’ll be back harder and stronger!

And of course the administration sends its little pigs to “monitor” the group:

Anne Myler, one of the coordinators for the administration's 'Student Activism Response Team', was spotted "monitoring" the picket, updating her pig friends through text. Fucking NARC!
