National Call for High School Walkout

A call has been issued to high-school students everywhere to walk out Friday, March 11th in protest of union-busting legislation in Wisconsin and elsewhere. These anti-worker bills are a direct attack on the livelihoods of all public-sector workers, including teachers. They amount to nothing less than a tax on America’s working families while the rich bask in the glow of their tax cut extensions. These attacks undermine the quality of education and other basic services in our communities. These public-sector jobs, which used to promise a better life for skilled and educated workers, have been transformed into the equivalent of a part-time job at Wal-Mart.

Students: there is a black hole where your future used to be. It’s time to take to the streets.
